Apple’s big iOS 18.1 update is coming soon, bringing the first round of Apple Intelligence features and more. Here are all iPhone models compatible with the new update:

If your device isn’t on this list, unfortunately you won’t be able to install the latest iPhone updates.
However, the good news is that iOS 18.1 supports all iPhones that are compatible with last month’s iOS 18 release. So if you’re running iOS 18, you don’t need to worry about iOS 18.1.
However, unlike most software releases, iOS 18.1 has a big compatibility asterisk worth noting.
Apple Intelligence features only available on select iPhones
iOS 18.1 is a big feature update for iPhone, but most of its great features are part of Apple Intelligence. These features are only available on the following iPhones:
- iPhone16
- iPhone16 plus
- iPhone16 pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone15 pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
That’s right, only six iPhone models are on Apple’s list of AI-enabled devices.
Beyond Apple Intelligence, iOS 18.1 still has lots of great improvements, including call recording, Control Center upgrades, and drag-and-drop iPhone mirroring.
However, that being said, the focus of this release is clearly AI, so if you own a supported Apple Intelligence device, iOS 18.1 offers even more features.
