Ingenio Aerospace has been awarded a Canadian Civil Aviation Authority (TCCA) STC for the integration of the Cockpit Tablet Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) on Bombardier Global Series and Challenger 600 Series aircraft.
FAA and EASA communications will also be published by the end of the calendar year.
Cockpit Tablet EFB is designed to improve operational safety by improving ergonomics that make it easier for pilots to access electronic tablets (such as Apple or Android devices) during all phases of flight, including takeoff and landing. has been. Ingenio said there are currently approximately 1,150 Global 600 and 2,040 Challenger 600 aircraft in service around the world, and the certification will open up a significant market. It will also apply to new aircraft produced by Bombardier in the future.
According to Ingenio, most tablets currently require a 15W USB power supply for fast charging. This certification covers charging capacities up to 60W, giving room for expansion designed for future charging requirements.
The Cockpit Tablet EFB offers USB Type-C charging connectivity and is designed with aviation-grade aluminum.
Designed to be an easy-to-install turnkey solution, complete electrical installation includes EFB mount, powered USB charger, tablet holder (universal or Type-C connector), and optional USB 2.0 data passthrough. Includes pilot and pilot structural brackets. Co-pilot settings. No third party engineering or parts required.
“We are very pleased to announce interoperability with Bombardier aircraft,” said James Bell, President and CEO of Ingenio. “Access to the Global and Challenger 600 series instantly opens up a potential market of over 3,000 aircraft worldwide, with new aircraft rolling off the assembly line every day. USB power delivery is a well-established industry standard, and recently the European Committee for Standardization has mandated the use of USB Type-C connectors. These technical details are covered by our new STC, which allows us to scale up power delivery up to 60W. Thanks to its capabilities, we are confident that Cockpit Tablet EFB will be able to provide excellent service to our customers for the foreseeable future.”
