Samsung is set to release its latest Galaxy Tab S10 series of AI-powered tablets this week, which will definitely make it into the list of best tablets with stylus pens for drawing and note-taking. Yesterday, we experienced an exclusive hands-on demo of the Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra models at Samsung’s headquarters in London. While I was blown away by the power and creativity of these two new tablets, I was a little stunned by the price and it was really worth it.
For context, I’ve been trying out the new Honor MagicPad 2 tablet for the past three days (full review coming soon). This tablet has many similar specs and features to the latest Samsung Tab S10 model, but at a lower price.
I’ve been seriously impressed with my experience with the MagicPad 2 so far, and while I’m not saying the Galaxy Tab S10 model is all that exceptional, I can’t help but think you’re getting two of Honor’s flagship AI tablets. (priced at £499), the price of Samsung’s powerful S10 Ultra tablet (prices start at $1,199.99 / £1,199 for Ultra and $999 / £999 for S10+). But are they comparable?
P.S. – Honor is currently offering £50 off on the new MagicPad 2 tablet, bringing the price down to £449 with the code included APD2EB50plus a free Honor Earbuds X6 plus an Honor Super Charge power adapter with every UK purchase. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 specs

Nevertheless, I was impressed. The first thing that really struck me about the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 models was, of course, the bright and vibrant display, with a peak brightness of 930 nits for the Ultra model and 650 nits for the Plus model. We’ve seen some examples of these tablets being used for gaming, especially car racing apps, and both Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays feature a 120Hz refresh rate and anti-reflection technology to reduce glare in all lighting conditions. Equipped with:
By comparison, the HonorMagic Pad 2 is capable of a 144Hz refresh rate, has a peak brightness of 1,600 nits (see why I’m questioning the price?), and has slightly less pixel resolution than both new Galaxy Tabs. Excellent. Equipped with an IMAX enhanced OLED display. I could stay here all day with a full spec comparison of these models, but what you might want to know is that in terms of power and performance, the Honor MagicPad 2 has the Snapdragon 8s That means it has a Gen 3 chip. On the other hand, Galaxy S10 Ultra is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9300+.
Both of these processors are powerful CPUs, but Dimensity is said to have better multi-core performance, while Snapdragon is optimized for single-core performance and gaming. So if you’re a creative professional who relies on multitasking and Adobe Creative apps, the Galaxy Tab S10 model might be right for you. I’ve been using the Honor MagicPad 2 for basic photo editing and cloud-based 3D modeling, so it doesn’t put a huge strain on performance.
Features of Galaxy AI

Perhaps the biggest distinguishing feature of the S10 series is its compatibility with Galaxy AI, which offers all the features we’re already familiar with, such as Circle to Search and Live Translate (which Samsung says are Now also available on third party apps like Whatsapp ) – on these new devices.
There have been several updates to Galaxy AI since it was first introduced in January. This includes the new ability to transcribe audio recordings directly in the Samsung Notes app, as well as the ability to export this as a PDF and translate/transcribe any content. Imported PDF. This is especially useful for journalists, creators, and students working on detailed assignments.
The popular Sketch-to-image feature was introduced in July on the Samsung Z Flip 6 and Samsung Z Fold 6 models, and is now also available on the Tab S10 series and the latest Samsung S24 FE smartphones. I was very impressed with how quickly this AI tool was able to transform my doodle into a beautiful otter using the S Pen, but I’m not sure if professional creators or professional artists would like AI assistance in this area. I can’t imagine being or needing it. Who and what is it for?
The other biggest feature I liked about the Tab S10 model was the ecosystem integration. Samsung is always keeping in mind users who use other Samsung devices, with features like a second screen that essentially lets you use the Galaxy Tab as a monitor for your Galaxy Book. You also have the option to pick up where you left off with App Continuity and easily share files across Samsung technologies using Quick Share.
I would love to spend a little more time with the Galaxy Tab S10+ or Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra to get the full experience, but first impressions are that these are two super-premium, high-end tablets for creative professionals.
If I didn’t already know how great the Honor MagicPad 2 is in comparison, at half the price of the S10 Ultra, I don’t think I would have cared so much about the increased prices of these tablets. That said, Samsung’s price is on par with Apple’s iPad Pro models, and it comes down to how much creators can afford and are willing to spend on a premium tablet for the best performance. It will be.
