Beyond noise canceling, there are several other improvements between the original style of AirPods and this model, including design. These earbuds come with a silicone sleeve that actually fits your ear and not only blocks out noise, but also holds your device in place. These stay in my ears much better than my old AirPods, which would slip off while training on the treadmill or elliptical.
Battery life has also increased like a cat, now lasting days instead of hours. I only charge the case once a week, but it’s enough to keep my AirPods powered between uses. It can also be charged quickly while resting in the case, which is a huge benefit for people who are always on the go. The case lets you know when it needs charging with a small light and chime, and uses a common USB-C cord.

Like most Apple products, these AirPods are incredibly durable. They don’t fall out of my ears, but I’m pretty clumsy at putting them away and have dropped them a ridiculous number of times. I bought it during the Amazon Prime Day sale event in July, so it’s been about 3 months and there are no scratches yet.
