Ever since it was first teased, there’s been a lot of discussion about whether Google’s Pixel Tablet is actually a tablet or a smart home hub. No matter how you look at it, this offers a different experience compared to other tablets. Thanks to Prime Day in October, Save $100.
Regularly priced at $399, the Pixel Tablet will be reduced to just $299 during Prime Day in October. This is a tablet only and does not include a speaker dock. Those who want the whole ensemble are in luck, but you have to Switch to Best Buy To enjoy $100 discount.
✅Recommended in the following cases: I’m looking for a tablet that offers a different experience than other tablets. You’ll need a tablet that doubles as a smart home hub and digital photo frame.
❌Skip this transaction if: If you need a more powerful tablet or something you can use as a laptop replacement when you’re on the go.
After being previewed at I/O 2022, we had to wait a year for the Pixel Tablet to be released to the public. It’s powered by Google’s Tensor G2, the same chip that debuted in the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. The G2 pairs 8GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a microSD card slot, so that’s all you can do.
At first glance, the lack of an OLED display might put you off, but the LCD panel is much better than expected. Another good reason Google didn’t choose an OLED screen is that if you (like me) decide to keep your Pixel Tablet docked all the time, you won’t have to worry about screen burn-in.
Surprisingly, this is also one of the reasons why I’m not too disappointed that you can’t use a microSD card and only have two storage options. I still wish that wasn’t the case, but I don’t actually have anything else in there other than apps so I don’t have to think about it.
After all, if you want something with more power or even an OLED display, there are plenty of options. Many of them are on sale thanks to Prime Day in October.
