While I was testing, TCL50XL In our review of the phone, we were disappointed to learn that the phone came pre-installed with the T-Mobile Play feed along with Google Discover. In my opinion, this clutters the screen with an additional feed of stories that you don’t need. It’s also not entirely clear how to delete Feeds, unlike other pre-installed apps that can be removed from the Android app drawer. However, this feed is not specifically limited to this TCL phone. Feeds may be provided with multiple phones sold by carriers. In this case, it’s not surprising to see this, since the TCL 50 XL is exclusive to the T-Mobile carrier. Comes with an additional brand boost.
To be fair, T-Mobile is not alone in this practice of pre-installing apps and content. Verizon and AT&T have long packaged their own apps on the phones the carriers sell. This practice is often referred to as “bloatware” because these pre-installed applications are not actively requested by the customer purchasing the phone. What’s worse, in some cases you can’t uninstall it and it feels like the application is left behind.

T-Mobile Play is one of those applications that is not easy to uninstall.[設定]You can disable and hide the Play feed by fiddling with the menu. This allows you to use your phone with a little less T-Mobile branding and frees up your Google Discover feed to show only the articles and videos recommended by that service’s algorithm. Because frankly, all you need is one algorithmically generated news service on your Android smartphone.
This solution is not new. I found it on the OnePlus subreddit page 4 years ago. Still, I was able to successfully remove the T-Mobile Play feed from my TCL 50 XL using the following steps. A T-Mobile representative did not respond to a request for comment when asked if there is another way to turn off this feed.
That’s enough for the back story. Here’s how to banish your T-Mobile Play feed.
first, setting Access the app and application list. This could be labeled app By phone.
The T-Mobile Play app will appear in the applications list.
Scroll down and T-Mobile Play Select your app and select it.
You’ll see an option to disable the T-Mobile Play app.
Then, on the corresponding page, disable option.
A submenu will appear asking you to confirm that you want to disable the app.
[無効にする]When you select , a submenu will pop up asking you to confirm that you want to disable the app. Then tap Disable the app To confirm. To complete the change, you will need to turn your phone off and on again or restart it from the power menu.
The Google Discover feed is now free from the T-Mobile Play feed.
When your phone restarts, it will completely disconnect from the T-Mobile Play feed and display the Google Discover feed on its own. If you decide later that you change your mind, you can repeat these steps to re-enable your feed and it will appear after you reset it again.
