After years of being known for its uniform aesthetic, Apple is finally giving its users more room to express themselves. The latest iOS 18 software update offers more personalization options than ever before. One new feature lets users add color to their apps, giving their devices a cohesive look that reflects their preferences.
The customization process is easy. First, press and hold your finger anywhere on the home screen until the app icon trembles. Then at the top of the screen[編集]from the drop-down menu.[カスタマイズ]Press At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see a menu with four options listed: Light, Dark, Automatic, and Tinted.
The colored option displays two sliders. The top button allows you to adjust the colors of the app. The bottom button allows you to choose the depth of the color. If you want a bright pink accent on your home screen, adjust the top slider to pink and slide the bottom indicator to a lighter shade. You don’t have to worry about saving your changes. Changes will appear automatically. To match an app’s hue to your wallpaper, use the eyedropper icon in the pop-up menu to sample the background color.
[ダーク]When you select the option, the white elements and backgrounds of many app icons turn black. On the other hand, “Auto” is set to automatically switch from bright to dark from day to night. You can follow the instructions in the video above.
The new update also allows you to increase the size of icons and widgets. The default size is small, but from the same menu[大きい]Press to enlarge. You’ll notice that the name below each app disappears to make room for the icon itself.
Before iOS 18, iPhone screen personalization was mostly limited to cheats and shortcuts. In some cases, these workarounds have been approved by Apple. A pre-installed app, literally called “Shortcut”, allows you to change the app’s icon to any image in your photo library.
