Honor’s new GT Pro tablet feels like a decent flagship replacement. Although this slate doesn’t use Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, it does come with something very close: the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
But that’s not even the best thing about Honor’s new tablet. GT Pro boasts a stunning 12.3-inch OLED display with 3K (3000 x 1920 pixels) resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Honor claims that the tablet’s screen supports up to 1,600 nits.
What’s more, the tablet comes with quad speakers that support IMAX Enhanced, so your entertainment experience seems to be completely covered. It runs on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14, but it’s safe to assume that Honor will upgrade this to Android 15 sometime next year.
When it comes to hardware, the GT Pro is a very solid choice for those in the market for a powerful tablet. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset is very good in terms of performance, and the 16GB RAM that complements the CPU also helps a lot.
It’s also worth mentioning that Honor’s tablet packs 512GB of internal storage and a 40,000 mm2 heatsink part that keeps the GT Pro cool during long gameplay sessions.
Of course, there are cheaper versions of the tablet, such as 8/128 GB, 8/256 GB, and 12/256 GB models. Speaking of which, the Honor GT Pro has only been introduced in China for now, but the tablet is expected to be introduced globally at some point in the coming weeks.
In terms of price, the cheapest model sells for the equivalent of $350, while the most expensive model costs $465. According to Honor’s webstore listing, the GT Pro will be in stores on October 22nd, but pre-orders are already open for those who want to get their hands on it as soon as possible.
One thing worth noting is that while the GT Pro has support for the Magic-Pencil 3 stylus, it doesn’t come with the tablet, so you’ll need to purchase the accessory separately. Unfortunately, this usually sells for around $100/€ and is quite a big investment, so make sure you wear it.
