Google Translate is one of the best free apps because it works so well in so many languages. What Google has accomplished with this app is pretty impressive, with features like live translation essentially turning your smartphone into a mobile interpreter. Google also has an Instant Translate feature that instantly translates text as you type it, and the company may further upgrade this feature for a richer, more seamless experience.

Google Translate v8.20.71.687383449.1 has some upcoming changes. The Instant Translation feature allows you to get translated text as soon as you type, but restricts further actions until you exit the Instant Translation preview by clicking the Enter button on your keyboard. You can’t hear the audio output, copy the results, or see the definitions and other grammar hints that Google Translate shows you until you exit the preview.

Additionally, while Google Translate currently lets you swipe to delete results in your translation history, there’s no way to undo them if you accidentally delete an entry you want to keep. In the future, Google Translate will allow you to restore deleted translations. You can see the current behavior and upcoming changes in the video above.
