After Google signs mysterious AR/VR deals with companies like Qualcomm and Samsung, will we ever find out what’s going on behind the scenes? Or could it finally be bringing the Google Play Store to Meta’s Quest, as Meta once asked? In any case, details discovered in the app store code suggest that Google will introduce Play Store for headsets. It looks like they are preparing a store. Android permissions.

Screenshots published by the outlet show a small graphic representing the headset in the Play Store’s “Install on other devices menu,” but some of the text that appears in the list of apps elsewhere. The section also mentions “XR headsets.”

Or maybe Google just changed its mind about including the Play Store on its Meta Quest headset. Meta pressed Google about it earlier this year, months after one of its executives revealed that Google had refused to let Quest users download regular Android apps onto their headsets. Meta has since announced that it will eventually offer a 2D app, but it will be from its own app store rather than Google’s app store.

Or maybe, just maybe, Google Cardboard is about to make a comeback. Hey, a man can do it. dreamcan’t you?
