Announced at the end of May, the Google Home Favorites widget on Android no longer requires participation in a public preview program.

Google Home widgets offer “actions, automation, and quick control of your devices.” Favorites can take up an entire home screen page or be as small as 2×1 with various configurations in between. This is one of the most flexible widgets out there.

Google Home layout[お気に入り]You can match your tabs, or you can create custom widgets and manually choose what’s displayed. After placing it on your home screen, you can change the widget by holding down the pencil icon and tapping it, or by dragging it to the widget settings.

This widget updates the status of your smart home devices every 30 minutes. You can turn on/off lights, blinds, etc. with one tap. Clicking the Camera, Wi-Fi, Thermostat, and Command tiles will open the device control page directly.

Meanwhile, smart locks, opening garage doors, checking camera feeds, and other “sensitive operations” require “various levels of user authentication.”

Widgets are accessible to all users of Google Home 3.24 and later, and Android 12 and later. Meanwhile, Google has just started testing the required preview program for users on iOS 17 and newer.
