Onyx Box Note Air3 C
$450 500 dollars Save $50
With the Air3 C, Boox offers a solution for users who can’t decide whether they want a tablet or an e-reader. It runs Android, offers great build quality and battery life, and we really liked it in our reviews. Today’s discount may seem small, but it’s the first meaningful price drop we’ve seen for this device, so you might want to jump on it.
These Onyx products are often overlooked in the tablet space, but if you take a closer look, you might be surprised by their features and practicality. For example, consider the Boox Air3 C. It received a score of 8.5/10 in our review. It offers excellent build quality and great battery life, and we found it handled tasks like note-taking and sketching admirably thanks to the built-in Wacom technology and paper-like film on top of the display. There’s power and precision here that you don’t find in regular E Ink tablets, and if that sounds appealing at all, the Air3 C is definitely worth checking out at today’s sale price.

Onyx Boox Note Air 3C review: Bridging the gap between tablet and e-reader
It’s not flashy, but the Note Air 3C fills an important niche
Why you should buy the Onyx Boox Air3 C tablet
Let’s start with the aforementioned build quality. Air3 C has a sturdy aluminum construction that feels great in the hand, and at 5.8 mm thick and weighs just 430 g, it’s lighter than a similarly sized iPad. The spine-like border on the left may look out of place on a tablet, but it’s surprisingly useful when holding the device with one hand, in that your fingers don’t touch the screen. As for the screen, it’s a 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 E Ink panel with a Carta 1200 glass layer, which together give a resolution of 2480 x 1860 in black and white and 1240 x 930 in color.
Performance is handled by a Snapdragon Octacore processor and 4GB RAM. This combo fits well within the constraints imposed by the E Ink display, and for what it’s worth, I never felt limited by the tablet’s processing power. As for the software, a fixed version of Android 12 is available. It’s easy to use and gives you fine-grained control over various aspects of your device. Other features include a microSD card slot, USB-C charging, a front CTM light, and a fingerprint sensor for added security. Rounding out the list is a 3,700mAh battery that can last for several days without charging.
The Air3 C is clearly aimed at a specific audience. Either you really need powerful e-reader capabilities on your tablet, or there’s real value in the note-taking and sketching aspects. That said, we refer to it as “the perfect productivity partner” in our buyer’s guide to the best Android tablets. If you’re okay with the tradeoffs (versus a regular Android tablet), I have no problem recommending the Air3. At today’s sale price. At least on Amazon, this is the first notable discount in the product’s history.
