Important points

  • Leaker Evan Blass has shared two renders of what could be the next Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition.
  • The renders show a smartphone with a triple camera setup and a flat frame with curved corners.
  • Previous leaks revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition should also be thinner than the Z Fold 6 and feature an upgraded camera.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold 6 earlier this year with some design changes and new hardware. This foldable is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, an improved display, and enhanced dust and water protection. But even with these upgrades, the Z Fold 6 still lags behind the competition. But Samsung is rumored to be leveling the playing field with the new Z Fold 6 Special Edition, and we may already have a glimpse of what this device will be like.

Contrary to past rumors

Prominent leaker Evan ‘evleaks’ Blass shared two renders of the foldable phone (via Android Authority). Blass didn’t reveal the name of the device, but previous design rumors suggested it could be the new Z Fold 6 Special Edition. The first render reveals the back of the phone, which features a triple camera setup with a raised camera island and a separate camera ring. The second image shows the right side of the device, where you can see the power button and the volume button above it. The frame has curved corners and looks flat.

Last week, leaker Ice Universe claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition could also address the crease issue seen in Samsung’s foldable phones. The leaker did not provide details, but said that Samsung has done a “good job” with the fold control for this foldable device, calling it “better than ever before.”

Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition could bring big upgrades

Samsung is rumored to be making some big changes to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition. The new model is said to be about 0.6mm thinner than the Z Fold 6 and come with a titanium frame for added durability. The cover screen and internal display could be larger, measuring 6.5 inches and 8 inches respectively.

The under-display camera will also be upgraded from 1MP to a sharper 5MP, and there may also be a 200MP main camera on the back. Additionally, this foldable model is rumored to support S Pen.
