Review: Galaxy Z Fold 6 gives Samsung a head start in the foldable race
It’s really a hare and tortoise situation.
One area where Samsung lags is in the creases of foldable devices. The fold remains largely unchanged from the Z Fold 5 to the Z Fold 6, and despite being a sixth-generation foldable device, Samsung has lagged behind competitors like the Pixel Fold 9 Pro and last year’s OnePlus Open. It seems there is. However, according to reliable leaker Ice Universe, the crease issue may be resolved in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition.
According to the leaker, Samsung has done a “good job” with crease control on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition, saying it’s “better than ever before.” Although the leaker did not reveal any specific details about the foldable model, the tweet hints that the special edition’s folds should be markedly improved compared to the standard model.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition could address crease issue
In addition to the fold improvements, previous leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition may include several design and manufacturing upgrades over the standard model. The new model is rumored to be around 0.6mm thinner than the Z Fold 6 and feature a titanium frame for added durability. According to the leak, the special edition will come with a larger cover screen and internal display of 6.5 inches and 8 inches respectively.
Other reported upgrades include an improved under-display camera from 1MP to a sharper 5MP, and a 200MP main camera on the back. However, there is still some uncertainty regarding the official announcement of the device and its availability, but we can expect more details to emerge in the coming days.
