Samsung has confirmed that its Wear OS 5 operating system, powered by its proprietary One UI 6 software, is ready to roll out to owners of older Galaxy Watch devices.

The new software skin and underlying operating system became readily available on the Galaxy Watch 7 in the summer, but Samsung has spent the past few months beta testing the previous generation watch.

The new MetaQuest 3S is already on sale at EE. That’s a £15 discount, but you’ll also get Batman: Arkham Shadow for free.

Android Police reports that the beta program for last year’s Galaxy Watch 6 has ended and the software is now live. A Wear OS 5 firmware update that includes One UI 6 is expected to be rolled out within the next few days, according to the report.

Galaxy Watch 6 will be available first, but the update will also be available on other Wear OS watches in the series, Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 editions.

So what can Galaxy Watch owners expect from One UI 6? There’s a new health and fitness feature called Energy Score, which draws inspiration from tools like Garmin’s Training Readiness, which tracks activity levels and recovery. Based on.

Speaking of recovery, sleep tracking has been improved, with data now showing things like your resting heart rate, breathing rate, and the time it takes to reach nod land.

It also includes universal gestures, allowing users with accessibility needs to perform actions like making a fist or pinching to use the watch. The new watch face that came with the Galaxy Watch 7 this summer has already made its way to older generations.

There’s not much new when it comes to Wear OS 5, but you can expect smoother, faster performance from Google’s wearable operating system.
