Apple held its annual product launch event last month, announcing the latest iPhone 16 series, updated Apple Watch devices, and new AirPods. However, many of the company’s products, including the new M4 Mac and iPad Mini 7, are expected to be announced later this month, with November 1st being the most likely date.
So far, there has been a lot of speculation about the M4 Mac, and the product is also available at Russian retailers. On the other hand, rumors regarding the iPad Mini 7 are quite sparse, and this product is relatively overshadowed by the M4 Mac. The 6th generation iPad Mini was launched in September 2021, but the lineup is definitely in need of a refresh. Here’s what we know about the iPad Mini 7 ahead of its release later this month.
With the Cupertino company showing off its Apple Intelligence capabilities, it’s safe to assume that the iPad Mini 7 could be equipped with one of the latest A-brand chips that support the AI suite. The A17 and A18 chips are the most likely candidates to be included in the new iPad Mini, with Apple leaving behind the more powerful M-series chips for the iPad Pro and iPad Air.
Apple is expected to stick with the same 8.3-inch size and LCD technology for the iPad Mini 7’s display. More importantly, Apple will fix the “jelly scroll” issue in the next iPad Mini. This jelly-like scrolling has adversely affected the 6th generation iPad Mini, with some users even claiming that the issue has rendered the device unusable. Additionally, the display refresh rate may be limited to 60Hz.
The iPad Mini 7 may also feature the same 12MP camera already on the redesigned 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air. HDR 4 support may be added to the camera. Additionally, the front camera may be relocated to the side edge for a better video calling experience.
For connectivity, you can expect access to Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Cellular models can also fully employ eSIM instead of nano-SIM. Additionally, the new iPad Mini will add support for Apple Pencil, and new color options could hit stores. The starting price of $499 is also highly anticipated.
