released by apple iOS18 It was released to the public in September, a week after the company announced its new product. iPhone16 lineup, apple watch series 10 and For details, see the “Glowtime” event.. This update brings many new features to iPhone, including: RCS messaging and how Remove flashlight controls from lock screen. One of the big and long-awaited changes introduced is the ability to customize your home screen.

Here we’ll show you all the ways you can customize your home screen to make it fun and unique.

How to remove app labels in iOS 18

Tap Large to make the app a little bigger and remove the app label.

1. Long press on the background to enter a shaking mode where all apps shake.
2. tap edit in the top left corner of the screen.
3. tap customization.
4. tap big In a new menu that appears at the bottom of the screen.

The app icon becomes larger and the label below it disappears. To me, this looks much cleaner and I don’t plan on showing app labels anymore.

If you don’t like this, follow the steps above again, but small. The app will return to its normal size and the label will appear again.

How to change app icon color

1. A long press on the background will put the app into shaking mode.
2. tap edit in the top left corner of the screen.
3. tap customization.
4. Tap the icon at the far right of the menu at the bottom of the screen. Colored.

This will give you a gradient scale at the bottom of this menu that you can slide until you get the right shade.

You can also tap the eyedropper icon in the top-right corner of the menu and choose the color from the background that most closely matches your icon. That way, you won’t have to worry about moving sliders or getting frustrated because the colors don’t match. This hasn’t happened to me, but definitely not. This change affects all app icons.

You can also give some apps a dark background.

1. A long press on the background will put the app into shaking mode.
2. tap edit in the top left corner of the screen.
3. tap customization.
4. Tap the icon labeled ” ” in the center left of the menu at the bottom of the screen. dark.

The background of Apple’s first-party apps like Messages, Safari, etc. will be almost black. This change applies to first-party Apple apps and some third-party apps, such as YouTube and Bluesky apps. Other third-party apps like Instagram and Snapchat remain unchanged.

Selecting Dark darkens the background, which can reduce the amount of power your iPhone uses and extend battery life.

How to darken only the background

If your app’s icons are colored or you like the bright look of your icons, you can darken the background to make them stand out. Here’s how:

1. If you long press on any part of the background, the app will go into shaking mode where it shakes.
2. tap edit in the top left corner of the screen.
3. tap customization.
4. Tap the sun icon in the upper left corner of the new menu.

This only darkens the wallpaper and does not affect the app icons.

How to arrange apps around the home screen

The process for placing apps on your home screen is the same as before. You can enter shaking mode by long-pressing on a blank area of the background and dragging the app to where you want it, or you can press and drag the app to a new location.

You can arrange all your apps near the bottom of the screen, arrange apps in the screen borders, or arrange them in other patterns. I’m right-handed, so I put most of my apps on the right side of the screen so I can easily tap them without fear of dropping my phone. This also makes it easy to ensure the background is visible for photos of loved ones or pets.

The grid still exists, so apps can’t stack on top of each other or be too close together. When the app is scaled up, there is a significant gap between the dock at the bottom of the screen and the bottom row of the grid. It looks like it’s big enough to hold another app’s icon, but it’s not. I tried but to no avail.
