Announced on Monday, GRID Legends will be hitting iOS and Android store shelves this December. All DLC is bundled with touch and tilt controls for those who want to enjoy their games on the go.
According to a press release, this mobile port of the previous console and PC-only game comes with a unique customizable user interface and “full support for all popular gamepads.” You can pre-order this port now on the App Store and Google Play Store. It costs $14.99, £9.99, or €12.49 depending on your location.
This version of GRID Legends comes with all the features you’ve come to expect from previous console and PC releases. With impressive visuals, a variety of terrain to explore, and ever-changing weather, you’ll push your phone or tablet to its limits. The game is a blend of arcade action and simulation controls, so it plays similarly to the Forza Horizon series.
There’s also an in-depth career mode and a live-action story mode where you play against your GRID World Series rivals. There’s also a photo mode that you can use to share photos of your car on social media websites like Instagram and X (Twitter). You can also create your own events using the Race Creator mode, where you can choose the course discipline, location, and conditions.

To play GRID Legends on iOS, you need an iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14, or newer. You can play the game on any iPad with an M1 chip or higher. This means GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition should work fine on iPad Air from 2022 and iPad Pro from 2021.

For Android devices, things can get a little more complicated. According to the press release, GRID Legends supports “a limited number of chipsets and devices at launch: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.”
GRID Legends was originally released on February 24, 2022. “With the amount of new options and the power and added technology of PlayStation 5, GRID Legends is without a doubt the best GRID yet,” our review says. “The racing model is as addictive as ever, so I had a lot of fun playing this.” Unfortunately, when the game was released, it didn’t seem to have much of an audience on Steam. Despite this, it has an average top critic score of 75 on OpenCritic, with 49% of critics recommending this racing game.
