Consumer Alert: What is the best case to protect my tablet?
FAIRPORT, N.Y. — From time to time, our viewers ask us about things they should investigate for consumer alerts. In some cases, the problem revealed by the alert may become apparent. However, this is the first time a consumer alert has been thrown out of a moving car.
News10NBC consumer investigative reporter Deanna Dewberry was walking her dog Madeline along Route 250 on Wednesday morning when she noticed a tablet lying in the grass on the side of the road. I stayed.
It was right next to the driveway and not the sidewalk, so it was obvious that a small child would have thrown it out the window, but the driver was smart as well.
The tablet was found in Fairport. It is approximately one mile north of the village, on the east side of Route 250, just north of the intersection of Alameda Drive and Nine Mile Point Road. The roadway in this section is moving at a high speed, and the car appears to be heading north with an infant in the back seat.
It was a beautiful day and the driver probably had his window down and his tablet outside. But despite being soaked in morning dew and possibly thrown from a moving car, the tablet is undamaged and fully operational.
So Deanna thought about what parents should pay attention to when purchasing a case for their child’s tablet. She went straight to Consumer Reports for answers.
“You need a durable case to protect your tablet, and that means a case that fits snugly. Tablets can have different dimensions from model year to model year, so a case made specifically for that model is a must.” We need it,” said Melanie Pinola of Consumer Reports. “If your model has a camera on the back, it should be raised and the corners should be padded to protect the back camera. If the tablet falls into a corner, the corners should not crack. This is for the purpose of
Deanna was curious about who made this tablet case and found it on sale for $14.98 on Amazon.
That’s one of the things about cases. Sometimes you think, “Well, of course you need a lot of money to file a good lawsuit.” That’s not necessarily true,” Pinola said. “If you go back to testing our cell phone cases, you’ll find that you can find a very durable case without spending as much as you might think.”
