Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset at Snapdragon Summit 2024 in Hawaii. As expected, this is a great platform that brings amazing advances in mobile performance, gaming, photography, and artificial intelligence.

Mobile device manufacturers will now use this chipset to bring new flagship devices to market. It has been confirmed that Samsung will be one of the companies launching devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite in the coming months.

At least one Galaxy S25 variant will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite

There have long been rumors about the chipset selection for the Galaxy S25 series, which is scheduled to launch early next year. Some rumors claim that Samsung might do the same thing it did with the Galaxy S24 series this year, using the Exynos 2400 for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ in most markets, but not for the Galaxy S24. Ultra shipped worldwide with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Samsung is working on the Exynos 2500, which was expected to debut with the Galaxy S25 series. However, recent rumors suggest that Samsung’s yields for this 3nm chip are poor and likely won’t be able to produce enough to ship tens of millions of units that will eventually be sold around the world. . This could lead the company to adopt Snapdragon 8 Elite only for the entire Galaxy S25 series, or consider MediaTek for the base and Plus Galaxy S25 models.

There’s no confirmation that that happened, but the mere fact that Samsung is included in the list of Qualcomm partners expected to launch Snapdragon 8 Elite devices in the “coming weeks” definitely suggests Qualcomm’s new flagship chipset. It is clear that there is a role to play in this area. The Galaxy S25 series can span the entire lineup or be limited to just the top-of-the-line model.

Disclaimer: Qualcomm will host a large international media group, including SamMobile, at Snapdragon Summit 2024 in Hawaii from October 21st to 23rd. All opinions and analysis are our own; Qualcomm receives no advance preview or exercises any control over our reporting.
