A new hands-on video provides the most detailed look at Samsung’s Android 15 update we’ve seen yet, revealing some new information and detailing features we already know about.
A video posted by YouTube channel Mobile Wala Bhai gives us the best look yet at One UI 7, Samsung’s Android 15 update for Galaxy devices. This update is running on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, as we saw some hands-on images and clips at Samsung’s SDC event earlier this month.
This latest video shows off some of the things we’ve seen so far, including updated icon and widget styles, a split notification panel and quick settings, and other design tweaks. One feature I haven’t seen before is the new battery icon in the top corner. This flips the battery horizontally and displays the percentage within the icon, similar to what you see on the iPhone.
When you connect your phone, the icon gets a little bigger and turns green to indicate charging status.
Additionally, the video also shows a new charging animation on the lock screen, with a pill-shaped notification at the bottom showing the current charge level, and an animation that also shows the remaining charging time.
Samsung’s One UI 7 update brings even more changes, many of which are “inspired” by iOS, so to speak. However, the update itself has been significantly delayed, with no beta program underway and a release date confirmed for 2025.
