It’s hard to beat Vitamix in this space. High-performance blender brands do more than just a prep smoothie, but can also make salad dressings, sauces, batters and soups. This is especially useful if you have the habit of adding tough ingredients to your recipes, such as nuts, dried fruits, or frozen produce. Other stronger blenders can leave chunks when introducing harder materials, but Vitamix doesn’t. The silky smooth final product remains.
Depending on the model you get, you can also purchase a variety of attachments to make the most of Blender’s powerful base. You can make your own flour to make 64 ounce containers for making smoothies for the whole family at once, or “dried grain” containers that are equipped with a blade specifically to crush things like whole grains.
Vitamix currently has four series of blenders. A basic Vitamix One offering for $250. The slightly more advanced Explorian series starts at $350 and is definitely the perfect choice for most people. The Legacy series starts at $400. And in the Advanced Ascend series, it will retreat at least $500. Yes, these are expensive machines, but if you like to do lots of blends and try to make things from scratch, it’s definitely worth investing.
