The new model supports Apple Intelligence (included with iPadOS 18), comes in new colors, and works with Apple Pencil Pro. Best of all, Apple has increased the storage, which doubles the price. This means the new model is much better value for money, with 128GB for $499/£499 instead of 64GB for the same price.

The arrival of the new iPad mini means Apple is discontinuing the sale of the older model, but it can be found at Apple’s Refurbished Product Store (US) or Apple’s Refurbished Product Store (UK). Beyond Apple, resellers are expected to continue selling older iPad minis for some time, and you can expect some discounts as they clear out old inventory.
