Asus has been selling gaming PCs and accessories under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand since 2006. The company’s ROG Phone series of smartphones for gamers hasn’t been around for that long, but with the launch Asus helped popularize the idea of gaming phones. The original ROG Phone in 2018.
After nine generations, ASUS is preparing to launch a new model that will be one of the first to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with Oryon CPU core and next-generation Adreno graphics. Asus hasn’t released many other details yet, but the company has released promotional photos and a release date. Asus ROG Phone 9 will be released on November 19th.
ASUS is showing off an engineering prototype at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit today, and promotional photos suggest we can expect the ROG Phone to feature a triple-camera system on the back…and more many Asus brand.
At the bottom of the phone, there is an area marked Republic of Gamers. The words “Dare to Play” are printed on the side. And below the camera are the acronyms ROG and GLHF (I think this stands for “Good Luck, Have Fun”).
The bottom of the phone also appears to have a series of small holes in a diagonal pattern. This appears to be an updated version of the AniMe Vision RGB lighting seen on other ROG-branded gaming phones and AniMe Matrix displays. ROG gaming laptop. But if the render images shared by Asus are anything to go by, it looks like the new ROG Phone 9 will have a significantly larger RGB lighting canvas.
