Have you ever noticed that some apps disappeared after you unlocked your iPhone? This often happens after iOS updates. In some cases, only one app may disappear from your home screen or app library. As you can see, missing apps in iOS 18 is less of a problem and easier to fix than having the entire app page disappear from your home screen. If this looks familiar, you can:

How to fix missing apps after updating to iOS 18

1. Find an app in your app library

If you notice that there are no app icons on your iPhone’s home screen, the best place to find them is in the App Library. Here’s how to quickly restore your icons:

Time required: 1 minute

  1. Swipe left on the home screen and app library.
  2. At the top, search bar. Enter the name of your app there.Go to app library
  3. Once the app appears, tap and hold its icon.
  4. All you have to do now is drag it back to your home screen and place it wherever you like.

If you can’t find App Library on your iPhone for some reason, you can try some solutions.

2. Find apps with Spotlight search

If you can’t find an app on your home screen, your settings may have moved it to another page or hidden it. But don’t worry. The app is still on my iPhone. You just have to find it. Use Spotlight search to find it easily. Here’s how:

  1. Swipe down from the center of your iPhone’s home screen. spotlight search.
  2. Enter the app name in search barIt’s visible right away so you can easily access it. |Type Type

3. Restart your iPhone

If you encounter a software glitch, the first thing you should do is restart your iPhone. Restarting reloads iOS and all system processes and often fixes small issues like disappearing apps. If you don’t know how to restart your iPhone, follow these steps.

  1. Press and hold. force and Volume down/up button Press them together for a few seconds until the power off screen appears.Restart your iPhone by pressing the volume down and side buttonRestart your iPhone by pressing the volume down and side button

  3. Press and hold. power button Until the Apple logo appears on the screen again.

4. Check the app folder

Another reason for apps to disappear randomly is that you may have accidentally moved them to a folder, making them difficult to find on your home screen. Folders can help organize similar apps, but they can be easily misplaced without you realizing it.

To recover lost apps that are still installed, try the following steps:

  1. First, check each folder on the home screen.
  2. Once you find the app, press and hold its icon.
  3. Then drag the app back to your home screen and place it wherever you like.

5. Check your Screen Time settings

If you’re wondering why you can’t find apps after updating to iOS 18, one of the common reasons could be the Restrictions feature in Screen Time settings. This feature helps you block access to certain apps and content, usually due to parental controls. However, there are times when an app may be unintentionally hidden from your home screen.

To check if a restriction prevents your app from appearing, follow these steps:

  1. go to setting > screen time.Go to screen timeGo to screen time
  2. tap Content and privacy restrictions.Go to Content and Privacy RestrictionsGo to Content and Privacy Restrictions
  3. Please turn Toggle content and privacy restrictions off.

6. Reinstall or update missing apps

If you still can’t find the app on your iPhone after restarting, you may have accidentally uninstalled it. You will need to reinstall the app from the App Store.

To reinstall the app:

  1. open app store On your iPhone.
  2. Tap. Search tab Enter the name of the missing app at the bottom. Search bar.Apple-Music-on-App-StoreApple-Music-on-App-Store

  4. Once installed, simply tap the app icon on your home screen to launch it.
  5. If there is a button called update instead of cloud iconwhich means the app is already installed, but there are updates available. You should update your apps because updating them will fix any corruption or issues that may have caused them to disappear.

7. Redisplay the home screen page
