Apple’s stock price slumped across the U.S. as users reported problems plaguing the App Store.
Downdetector, a site that monitors online outages, found that the issue occurred after 11 a.m. ET and affected thousands of iOS users.
Apple’s System Status page highlights subscription and volume purchase suspensions, suggesting that users are unable to log in to certain accounts.
But users have shared that the App Store has been “down for some time,” even though the tech giant’s status page doesn’t reflect that.

Apple’s stock price slumped across the U.S. as users reported problems plaguing the App Store
Thousands of iOS users have reported to Downdetector, with 81% citing App Store server connections.
Reports are coming from major cities such as San Francisco, Minneapolis, and New York City.
Issues have also been reported in other countries, including the UK and parts of Europe.
It’s not just about buying new apps. A glitch in the App Store allows users to update certain apps.
One iOS user shared on X: “@AppleSupport can’t download apps from App Store — Can’t access saved payment details — Is there an Apple issue going on — really frustrating!!??”
“The App Store has been down for a while, but Apple’s status page doesn’t reflect this yet,” another user posted.
“I’m at the point where I want to get a job at Apple just to automate the status checks on that page, then quit and go back to my current job.”
While users will not be able to download new apps, Apple may lose revenue due to the outage.
In the second quarter of 2024, the App Store generated $24.6 billion in revenue from users around the world.
