Sales of Apple’s new iPhone in China rose 20% year-on-year in the first three weeks, according to a report by research firm Counterpoint.
“Sales of the iPhone 16 series are strong in China,” Counterpoint said, with the iPhone 16 Pro and flagship Pro Max model performing particularly well, with combined sales of both models exceeding last year’s iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15. It added that it was an increase of 44% compared to Pro. maximum.
Vlad Sabov of Bloomberg News:
“Given the smooth production ramp-up, consistent pricing strategy, and initial wave of upgrades by existing iPhone users, the iPhone 16 series has achieved significant growth in China’s domestic market,” said Counterpoint analyst Ivan Lam. ” he said. “The product mix has also improved significantly.”
Although it’s just a three-week snapshot, the data suggests Apple’s 2024 launches are going better than last year.
