In the third quarter, iPhone sales fell by 0.3 percent, while Huawei recorded an increase of 42 percent
The popularity of Apple’s smartphones in China has declined compared to domestic manufacturers. In the world’s largest smartphone market, iPhone sales fell 0.3% in the third quarter. Meanwhile, rival Huawei recorded a 42% increase.That’s according to data released Friday by U.S. market research firm IDC. This reduced Apple’s market share by 0.5 percentage points to 15.6 percent. However, US technology companies still held a close second place, followed closely by Huawei with 15.3%. The leading candidate is Chinese manufacturer Vivo, with a market share of 18.6%. But Apple managed to make up for it with the new iPhone, according to IDC. “With its annual new product launches, Apple has returned to the top five in China’s market rankings,” the paper said. Apple announced the new iPhone 16 series in early September. Overall smartphone sales in China increased by 3.2% to 68.78 million units.. RTR
