A new report says both a successor to the Apple Vision Pro and another cheaper Apple Vision headset are likely to launch within the next two years.
Rumor has it that the Apple Vision Pro will cost $3,499, while the lower-end Apple Vision headset will likely cost around $2,000. It will reportedly use a lower-performance chip and a lower-resolution screen than the higher-end model.
bloomberg’s According to the report, lower-end headsets may omit some of the technology found in Apple Vision Pro, such as the Eyesight feature. This required a lenticular display on the outside of the headset so that others could “see” the wearer’s eyes.
The lower-end Apple Vision will likely be powered by the A-series chips used in future iPhone lineups, rather than the M2, which currently has Apple Vision Pro. When it comes to materials, it’s reasonable to expect that lighter materials will be used to reduce strain on the wearer’s head.
The successor to the current Apple Vision Pro will ship alongside the lower Apple Vision models. This gives Apple an opportunity to offer features and price point options to consumers interested in AR/VR headsets.
Apple says the Apple Vision headset is expected to sell twice as much as the Apple Vision Pro because of its lower price. Development on the second Apple Vision Pro continues, but for now the main hardware change is expected to be a processor upgrade.
Both are expected to arrive sometime in 2026. Apple is also said to be working on an augmented reality “smart glasses” project alongside the Apple Vision and Apple Vision Pro headsets.
