The first set of Apple Intelligence features will be available later this month
Apple on Tuesday announced the next-generation iPad Mini with new AI features aimed at increasing productivity and simplifying workflows.
Powered by the advanced A17 Pro chip, the new iPad Mini is the first in the series to support Apple’s upcoming Apple Intelligence suite.
Originally introduced in iPhone 15 Pro, the A17 Pro chip significantly upgrades iPad Mini’s performance, delivering faster processing speeds, improved graphics performance, and more efficient processing for demanding applications.
Apple says an advanced processor is essential to run Apple Intelligence. The first set of Apple Intelligence features will be available later this month in the U.S. English version of iPadOS 18.1 for iPads with A17 Pro, M1 chip and newer models.
According to the company, Apple Intelligence provides context-aware suggestions while ensuring user privacy.
This personalized intelligence system offers a variety of features, including:
- Authoring tools to rewrite, proofread, and summarize text across apps, including emails, notes, pages, and supported third-party applications.
- Siri has been enhanced to give users more natural and flexible interactions with Siri, with improved language understanding, context awareness, and command input options.
- Memory improvements make it easier to create custom movie memories by entering a description and using new cleanup tools to remove unwanted objects from your photos.
Apple plans to roll out more AI-powered features in the coming months, including integration with Image Playground, Image Wand, Genmoji, Personalized Siri, and ChatGPT.
