Los Angeles Rams lineman Connor McDermott has become the latest victim of theft in the Los Angeles area. His team-issued iPad was stolen from his car while it was parked in a residential area. The exact location of the crime has not been disclosed.
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made. McDermott is understandably upset about the theft, not only because of the iPad’s monetary value, but also because it contained sensitive information.

Team-issued iPads are used by players to review game plans, watch practice footage and prepare for games. However, Apple’s technology allows users to remotely wipe the device in case of theft, ensuring that stolen data is protected.
McDermott was drafted in the sixth round of the 2017 draft by the UCLA Bruins and played for the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and New England Patriots before joining the Rams this offseason. The team added him in early August due to a rash of injuries on the line. He was then placed on injured reserve before the season.
As of this writing, no arrests have been made, but the Los Angeles Police Department is working to track down the perpetrators.
While playing for the Jets in 2021, McDermott had a 1-yard touchdown reception.
The Rams are currently 1-4 on the season and are facing a number of challenges. The team is currently in its bye week and will look to regroup and improve its performance in the coming weeks.
