Don’t expect to fit the new M4 Mac mini into tight spaces. Because you have to tilt it to reach the bottom every time you turn it on.
If the Magic Mouse’s charging port location isn’t a questionable design choice, the New Mac mini’s power button might be, too. The Mac mini’s power button is located at the bottom of the device, as Apple clearly didn’t show in its announcement video or new ad.
As you can see on the online store page for the new M4 Mac mini, the button is not located on the very bottom of the model. However, underneath it is only lifted off the ground by cooling vents.
It is located at the rear left of the device when viewed from the front. To turn on a Mac mini or force a restart if the Mac mini locks up, users must at least reach underneath the device.
Given the gaps between the main parts of the Mac mini and the slight lift caused by the vents, users will likely have to tilt or lift the device to reach the buttons.
Previously, the power button was on the right rear of the M2 Mac mini when looking at it from the front. I did have to reach behind the device, but that’s also where the power and other cables were connected, so I didn’t have to move the unit to push the device.
Waiting for accessories and dock to be completed.
