Apple (AAPL) on Monday launched the first wave of Apple Intelligence features with a free iOS update for the iPhone 16 and other devices.
Apple Intelligence is the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) deployment, and analysts are focusing on sales cycle data from the early iPhone 16 upgrade as Apple prepares to release fourth-quarter earnings after the market closes on Thursday. .
Bank of America Securities analyst Wamsi Mohan wrote in an Oct. 25 note that the addition of Apple Intelligence should have a positive impact on the iPhone upgrade cycle.
“Given the gradual release of Apple Intelligence, we expect iPhone demand to recover after the initial release of Apple Intelligence in late October,” Mohan said. “We believe this cycle will become more dynamic with more significant software updates.”
However, new iPhones don’t necessarily need to support Apple Intelligence. Apple customers with older iPhone models can also use the company’s new AI features by updating their software.
