Apple today released a new version of iPadOS 18.0.1 designed specifically for iPad mini 7, with availability starting tomorrow.
The iPadOS 18.0.1 update has the same content as the iPadOS 18.0.1 update released in early October, but with build number 22A8380. The iPad mini 7 isn’t available yet, but customers in Australia and New Zealand who pre-ordered will receive it within just a few hours and will be able to update it during the setup process.
iPadOS 18.0.1 includes a fix for an issue that could cause the iPad to quit unexpectedly when replying to a message using a shared Apple Watch face, and also addresses a vulnerability in the Passwords app Also includes security fixes.
The launch version of the iPad mini 7 has a version of iOS 18.0 installed instead of iPadOS 18.0.1, so there is an update available out of the box. Next week, iPad mini 7 owners can also upgrade to iPadOS 18.1, an update that includes the first Apple Intelligence features.
