The M4 iPad Pro, launched earlier this year, has seen declining demand despite impressive feature upgrades. According to recent reports, the premium pricing of these models may be a factor.
9to5Mac’s Ryan Christoffel:
DSCC supply chain analyst Ross Young recently released a report outlining the demand struggle for Apple’s M4 iPad Pro.
The new iPad Pro models debuted in May, and early demand looked solid. However, display panel shipments reveal that large scale downsizing is underway and demand is weaker than expected.
Young said initial expectations were for as many as 10 million panels to be shipped in 2024. However, with a slowdown in Q3 and expectations for Q4, the actual number could be a little short of 7 million copies…
[W]As enticing as the technology upgrades are, the significant price increase for this year’s iPad Pro models was probably a huge bummer to all but the most hardcore early adopters.
Mac Daily News opinion: The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $999, and the 13-inch iPad Pro starts at $1,299. This is the state before adding any accessories. Do you think Apple’s M4 iPad Pro price is too high?
