Apple’s Vision Pro didn’t exactly reshape the market, but the company hasn’t given up on headsets that combine the digital and real worlds.
Apple’s next big mixed reality release could arrive as early as next year, and the Vision Headset’s launch price could be around $2,000, according to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Garman, which says it won’t be cheap. No, but it’s more affordable than the $3,500 Vision Pro. To achieve this price point, Apple will use cheaper materials, a less powerful processor, and no EyeSight feature that displays the user’s eyes outside the headset.
Next up is the second-generation Vision Pro in 2026, and possibly smart glasses (similar to Meta’s Ray-Bans) and camera-equipped AirPods in 2027.
The same report provides an update on Apple’s smart home strategy. The company hasn’t had much success here either, but it says it has plans for an “affordable iPad-like screen” that you can place around your home to watch TV, make FaceTime calls, and use apps. It has been reported. A tabletop device with a robotic arm is expected to follow, and could cost around $1,000.
