What I love about Pencil Pro is primarily the new “squeeze” feature that triggers the tool palette. It feels more intuitive than double-tap, especially when jotting down notes quickly. It also has a built-in gyroscope sensor that allows you to change direction by twisting the tool, giving you more control. You can also save money and buy the Apple Pencil USB-C instead. Apple Pencil USB-C also supports the iPad Mini, but that model omits many important features such as wireless charging, pressure sensitivity, double tap, and squeeze.
The Pencil Pro is often marked down to $95 on Amazon, so the $26 difference is easily worth it. But then again, will Apple go out of business to maintain support for the 2nd generation Apple Pencil?

The iPad Mini is powered by the A17 Pro, which is almost the same processor found in the iPhone 15 Pro. Almost. The iPhone 15 Pro’s chip has a 6-core CPU and 6-core GPU, while the iPad Mini has a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU. This does mean a slight impact on graphics performance, but in reality you probably won’t notice this unless you play the most graphics-demanding games.
A while back I started reusing my old 2021 Mini (I needed a small tablet to watch TV while a family member was in the hospital). To be honest, I didn’t notice a significant performance increase in the 2024 model. At least in everyday work, where most people use these tablets. I’ve been using the 7th generation Mini for note-taking and streaming. gilmore girls Work in the background during work hours, checking email, reading e-books on the Kindle app, or watching YouTube videos when you don’t want to have your laptop. It can handle all these tasks easily.
