Apple is believed to be announcing new hardware soon, including at least one iPad. A new iPad mini, 7th generation model, is expected. Here’s a breakdown of what we know so far.
Apple iPad mini release date: sooner than expected?
The iPad mini is expected to be released on Friday, November 1, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Garman, suggesting that the announcement will happen “around the end of October” alongside new MacBook Pro models. It is said that there is
That’s understandable, but I wonder if Apple might choose a different schedule.
Last October, Apple announced new Macs at a pre-Halloween event called “Scary Fast.” Perhaps Apple will do something similar this year, perhaps focusing such events solely on the Mac, as it did last year.
If that happens, it means a new iPad mini could be released at any time, and sooner than Garman expected. After all, products released now are prime candidates for holiday gifts, so November 1st is a good release date, but earlier is even better.
Apple products are always released on Fridays, so if it’s not a Friday, November 1st, there are two Fridays before it: October 18th and October 25th. The first Friday of those may be too early. , I favor the latter, although it’s not impossible.
However, if Gurman’s prediction that iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 will be released on Monday, October 28th is correct, the release date could be November 1st.
Apple iPad mini announcement date
This means the iPad mini will be announced via press release rather than a big event or keynote. That’s not to say there won’t be a Mac keynote like this year.
But if Apple intends to keep the event Mac-only, the iPad mini launch date could be as early as next week, starting Monday, October 14th.
Apple likes announcements on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (although that’s not always the case; the iPhone 16 was announced on a Monday in September this year). So Tuesday, October 15th and Wednesday, October 16th are worth keeping an eye on. If there is an announcement.
Expectations for Apple iPad mini
The new iPad mini will likely look the same as the current model, but the color range has been revised. It has a new processor and will almost certainly be an Apple Intelligence capable processor. Expect support for the latest stylus, Apple Pencil Pro, and an improved 8.5-inch display.
