Apple (AAPL, Financial) is preparing to manufacture a revised version of the MacBook Air using the M4 processor. Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that the release is expected in early 2025.
Bloomberg said the next 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models, called J713 and J715, will have the same design as the 2022 model, albeit with an M4 CPU for improved performance.
Following a software upgrade scheduled for December, MacBook Air models are expected to be available between January and March. Apple last upgraded its MacBook Air with an M3 CPU in March, and announced a 15-inch model with an M2 chip in June 2023.
As part of the same product cycle, Apple is also expected to release other new products, including an improved version of the iPhone SE and a new iPad, according to Bloomberg. According to the report, the new entry-level iPads, codenamed “J481” and “J482,” will be 11th generation tablets.
Apple also postponed the debut of its premium Mac Studio, currently scheduled for March to June. According to Bloomberg, the M4 chip will power the upcoming Mac Studio and other devices, offering enhanced AI processing power and ray tracing for gaming.
