As of October 17th, developers must submit “Trader” status in App Store Connect to be able to submit updates for their apps. For example, if you are a hobbyist, you are unlikely to be a trader under EU law. , if you develop an app without the intention of commercializing it, you may not be considered a trader,” Apple explained.
From February 17, 2025, apps without trader status will be removed from the EU until that status is provided and verified.
According to Apple, the new law requires the App Store to display contact information for verified traders, including address, phone number, and email address.
