Android 15 update causes Google Pixel 6 devices to unexpectedly brick and become unusable.

Millions of Pixel users have already upgraded to Android 15, the latest version of Google’s mobile OS.

However, this software update is reported to block some older Galaxy smartphones, especially Pixel 6 devices.

According to android policeusers are reporting that their Pixel 6 devices have become completely unresponsive after installing the update, but there is no clear fix in sight.

They claim that the troubleshooting method of rebooting after an update does not yield results.

According to android policeit is believed that the risk of paperweighting may be related to Android 15’s Private Spaces feature.

The Private Spaces feature allows users to block sensitive apps such as photo rolls and banking services. Apps can be hidden behind biometric security, preventing potential malicious users from accessing sensitive data.

“Completely dead.”

However, multiple Reddit users have complained that their Pixel 6 smartphones stopped working after upgrading to Android 15 and enabling Private Space.

“Just a PSA to anyone who has a Pixel 6: If you upgrade to Android 15, don’t enable the Private Spaces feature,” wrote a Reddit user named GeoByte.

“I unlocked the Private Space area and opened an app I installed there, but my Pixel 6 was blocked. I tried turning on or restarting my phone using the method provided by Google. You can’t do that. It’s completely dead.”

“Same thing happened to my Pixel 6 Pro,” wrote another Reddit user named GegoByte. “Google support is completely useless.”

Some users claim that their device bricked immediately after opening an app within a private space, while others claim that their smartphone suddenly stopped during normal use, even though they had plenty of battery left. .

According to the publication, Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment. However, Pixel 6 owners are advised to hold off on installing the update for now, or use Private Space if they’ve already installed it.

Pixel users should also turn off automatic updates in their settings to avoid noticing a potentially flawed version of Android 15.

Google released the stable version of Android 15 for Pixel smartphones on October 15th. Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a are the oldest Pixel models to receive the update.
