If you’ve been waiting for the next Android 15 Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) Beta, you don’t have to wait any longer. Google is currently rolling out Android 15 QPR1 Beta 3 to Pixel devices.
For those who aren’t familiar with how Google handles OS updates, the company typically operates on a quarterly release schedule. For example, when Google releases a major OS update such as Android 15, we follow up that release with QPR1, QPR2, and QPR3 updates. Regarding betas, we plan to release multiple betas before moving to the next QPR. Today’s release is the third beta version of QPR1.
According to the release notes, this new beta version offers various fixes for known issues. These fixes include:
Issues reported by developers and users
- We fixed an issue where some content in notifications could appear clipped. (Issue #369022573)
- Fixed an issue with system memory paging that could cause the device to crash or reboot. (Problem number 370281133, Problem number 363067081)
- We fixed an issue where the volume buttons didn’t work when connected to certain Bluetooth devices. (Issue #370700569, Issue #362542656, Issue #362115174, Issue #369774572)
- We fixed an issue where some app icons on the home screen were displaying the default system icon instead of the app icon. (Problem number 335579823)
- We fixed an issue where the device could become slow and crash when switching from secondary to primary user. (Problem number 339635839)
- Fixed an issue where the system UI could crash. (Issue #370214367)
- We fixed an issue on foldable devices that could cause the screen to go blank when unfolding the device. (Problem number 367324432)
Other resolved issues
- Fixed an issue where users might be unable to interact with heads-up notifications.
- Fixed an issue where the system could crash while creating a bug report.
- Fixed various other issues that were impacting system stability, connectivity, and interactivity.

This primarily occurred in a test environment where Bluetooth resources are reused between virtual device instances. - Improved volume control in LE Audio by allowing you to adjust the volume of each connected sink individually using the UI, and by restricting volume key adjustments to the primary sink.
