Android 15 brings a lot of nifty changes to supported smartphones. So far, only VIVO has managed to roll out the stable Android 15 update to its flagship phones, while Google and Samsung are yet to push the stable Android 15 update to their phones.
One of the standout features of Android 15 is the private screen recording system. With Android 15, you can record a single app instead of recording or casting your entire screen. This prevents sensitive information such as passwords and photos from being leaked.
However, if you want to change the app you’re sharing during the session, you’ll need to stop casting or recording for now and start a new one. This breaks the seamless experience of sharing your device screen. Thankfully, Google is working on a new feature that will let you switch between apps without stopping recording or casting.
According to Android Authority’s Mishaal Rahman, a flag in the Android 15 source code enables “task switcher functionality for partial screen sharing.” Particularly, partial screen sharing is what internally refers to the single app screen recording and casting functionality. The strings related to the new task switcher feature are:
Sharing pauses when you switch apps Share this app instead Switch back App switch
Enabling this flag will cause a new notification to pop up when you screen record or cast an app and then change to another app. The notification is sent from the SystemUI app and displays “Sharing will be paused when you switch apps.”
Additionally, the notification has two buttons: “Share this app instead” and “Undo.”[戻る]to return to the app where you started the screen recording or casting session. on the other hand,[代わりにこのアプリを共有する]to share the app you open during a screen recording or casting session. This feature may not be fully functional at this time, so[代わりにこのアプリを共有する]Button doesn’t work.
It is unclear whether this feature will make it to the stable version of Android 15. Previously, it was revealed that Android 15 may introduce a new feature that will sync notifications across all connected devices. Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 also revealed the ability to customize the mouse pointer.
