The mass rollout of Android 15 is currently underway, and as usual, Google’s own Pixel smartphones will be the first to receive the big update. To get the update, you need a Pixel 6 series or newer phone. Google has shared an official blog post detailing the key features of the latest Android release.
Here is the list of supported devices:
Private Spaces lets you lock sensitive apps behind an additional layer of authentication. When enabled, apps in your private space will be separated from the rest of the apps in your app and will no longer appear in your app drawer, recent apps, notifications, or settings.
Android 15 is also optimized for tablets and foldable phones with the ability to dock the taskbar, giving you quick access to the apps and app pairs you use most. You can also easily unpin the taskbar using the same toggle.
Theft Detection Lock is another new security feature that’s also coming to most devices running Android 10 and above. This feature automatically locks your device if it is stolen and prevents your personal information from being leaked. Leverages device sensors and AI to detect theft-related behaviors such as sudden swipes or runs.

Remote Lock is a companion feature that lets you lock your phone from another device using your phone number, even if Find My Device is turned off.
In addition to rolling out Android 15, Google also announced the removal of Pixel features for October. Pixel Buds Pro, Pro 2, and Pixel Buds A series earbuds include hands-free Google Gemini.
Pixel 8 and newer smartphones have enhanced night vision and astrophotography modes, as well as underwater photography and video recording modes. Audio Magic Eraser helps isolate sound during video recording, Pixel Weather app adds pollen tracker, and Pixel 8 Pro’s Thermometer app supports camera viewfinder
