Google will release Android 15 on Tuesday.

Android 15 will be available on supported Pixel devices such as Pixel 8 and Pixel 9. It will also be available for download in the coming months on select devices including Samsung, Lenovo, Motorola, Nothing, and OnePlus.

The Android 15 version will be released for select devices from other companies such as Samsung, Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi.

Before downloading Android 15…

As with any new major release, we recommend backing up your phone with a previous version in case you want to downgrade from Android 15 to Android 14. If you have automatic backups, you can back them up, although you’ll need fairly recent backups. That too is done manually. inside you setting, go to system > backup and hit Back up now. You can also backup your device to your computer.

How to download Android 15 to your Pixel device

On a supported Android device, go to: Settings > System > Software Update > System Update. If Android 15 is available on your device, you’ll see the update status. If not, Check for updates button on the bottom right. Then tap Download and install Wait until your phone downloads Android 15. Once your phone is done, it will reboot and start again. You should now see Android 15 running on your device.

Note: If you see a notification saying “Insufficient free space available”, you need to free up storage or update using your computer before updating to Android 14.
