The big day has arrived. Android 15 has been released. This means Pixel owners around the world are lining up to download Google’s latest update to their phones, and counting down the days until other OEMs do the same. It means that. That said, maybe we shouldn’t hold our breath.
The release of Android 15 has a lot of expectations, even though it’s been awaited by many. This year’s build feels like a bunch of smaller changes arriving all at once, rather than actually representing a major overhaul of the platform itself.
However, for those keeping score, things are a little more complicated today. We’re also getting Google’s latest Pixel Drop, which comes with a bunch of new features for the company’s phones. Things like the Pixel 9’s new underwater photo mode sound cool, but it’s important to know what’s changed in Android 15 and what’s changing for the Pixel.
