All Galaxy S25 models use Snapdragon 8 Elite chips worldwide

For the past few months, the chipset used in the Galaxy S25 series has been a point of contention. The chip was expected to be used in some Galaxy S25 series devices, as Samsung confidently named it Exynos 2500 in its recent earnings call. However, this may not be the case as all units are reported to be using the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor globally.

All Galaxy S25 models could come with Snapdragon 8 Elite worldwide

After Samsung MX head TM Roh appeared on stage during the announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processors earlier this week, we said the chip would likely be used in the Galaxy S25 series. Reliable tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) claims that all Galaxy S25 series devices (Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra) will use Snapdragon 8 Elite chips worldwide.

They also claimed that the Exynos 2500 and MediaTek 9400 chips will not be used in any version of the Galaxy S25. This news is great for Samsung fans who want only Qualcomm chips in their flagship smartphones.

This year, Samsung has adopted Exynos 2400 chips in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ in all countries except Canada, China and the United States. The Galaxy S24 Ultra used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy chipset worldwide.

Although the Exynos 2400 was a significant improvement over the previous generation of Exynos processors, it was still not as fast as competing flagship chips from Apple, MediaTek, and Qualcomm.

The Exynos 2500 was expected to be a big step forward with Samsung Foundry’s 2nd generation 3nm process and new generation Arm CPU cores. However, Samsung had to remove the Exynos chip from the Galaxy S25 lineup because it is rumored that Samsung cannot manufacture enough chips to pass quality tests.

However, the good news for consumers is that all Galaxy S25 units use Snapdragon 8 Elite chips. Recent tests have shown this chip to be extremely fast. The CPU is about as fast as Apple’s flagship chip, the A18 Pro, but the GPU is much faster and more power efficient than the A18 Pro. Therefore, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to offer superior performance and good power efficiency.
