Apple has held an event in October three out of the past four years, but after today’s surprise announcement of the iPad mini 7, is there still a chance they’ll hold an event this month?
Some Apple enthusiasts believe that today’s announcement of the iPad mini 7 in a press release means that it is unlikely that Apple will hold an event this October, but this time The announcement does not completely exclude that possibility. Last year, Apple held a 30-minute virtual event on October 30th to announce new MacBook Pro and iMac models powered by M3-series chips, so it looks like there will be another Mac-focused event this October. is not uncommon either.
This month’s updates to the Mac lineup are rumored to be more significant than those announced a year ago. In addition to updates to MacBook Pro and iMac models with M4-series chips, the Mac mini is expected to receive its biggest redesign since 2010, something Apple is keen to highlight in a video during a virtual event this month. That may be the case. Rumor has it that the new Mac mini will be about the same size as an Apple TV and feature two USB-C ports on the front, giving it a more Mac Studio-like appearance.
Meanwhile, Apple had already announced the M4 chip that comes standard in the iPad Pro earlier this year, while the M3 chip was announced at an event last October. Still, there are high-end M4 Pro and M4 Max chips that need to be announced.
This is not to say that Apple will definitely hold an event this month. In fact, there’s no reason why the iPad mini’s early announcement eliminates the possibility of an event happening.
What do you think? Will there be any events this month or just more press releases?
