AAWireless TWO is the best Android Auto adapter, but even better

Wireless Android Auto Adapter is a very useful tool and now the sequel to the best tool is coming. With availability starting today, here are some first thoughts on AAWireless TWO.

The original AAWireless was a solid product, offering the ability to plug an adapter into your car’s USB port and take over your previously wired-only Android Auto connection and turn it wireless. The crowdfunded adapters worked great for most vehicles and were also the most practical. Not only is wireless connectivity now available, but the app also offers further tweaks to the experience that you won’t find anywhere else, and regular software updates are made to iron out any bugs or issues that arise. There was also a way to use CarPlay using an adapter.

So what does the upgrade to AAWireless TWO come with?

This primarily starts with hardware updates and upgrades in terms of fit and finish. TWO is smaller than the original model, but not enough to matter in most cases. However, in the tight quarters of the center console, the smaller size is definitely appreciated as it helps reduce clutter.

Even more impactful is the addition of a button to the device. This button can be used to switch between paired smartphones or to “pause” the connection. You can also use this to default back to a specific paired device or initiate a pairing. This makes a huge difference to your quality of life. many It’s easy to connect to new devices and switch who’s phone is paired. This is of course useful if you have a shared vehicle or multiple devices. This button action is also mappable in the app, and the press, double press, and long press actions are remappable.

Another advantage of this button is that you can easily move the LED to a more visible location. It will be a welcome change when you need to troubleshoot connections.

However, there are no noticeable changes in terms of functionality or performance. I’ve been checking the connection for about the same amount of time and have had no problems staying connected for the past week and had the same experience overall. However, AAWireless has always provided a solid experience, so that’s not a bad thing.

I’ll be continuing to use AAWireless TWO over the next few weeks ahead of a full review, but if you have any questions, please leave a comment below.

The AAWireless TWO is available for purchase starting today, but we’re told stock may be hit or miss as people who signed up for the device sold their first cracks in the past day or two. AAWireless TWO is priced at $65, while the original is still on sale for $59.

update: AAWireless TWO is completely sold out at the moment, but it is said that it will be restocked soon, so I would like to keep an eye on it.

A model that also adds CarPlay support, AAWireless TWO+, is scheduled to go on sale in 2025.
