Google (google) and “Fortnite” maker Epic Games told The Verge that Judge James Donato has given the search giant a temporary deadline of Nov. 1 to make major changes to the Android app store rules. He admitted that he had granted an administrative suspension. As a result, Google may not have to open a Play Store for years, if ever, despite the jury’s verdict in Epic’s legal battle, according to The Verge’s Wes. Davis and Sean Hollister report. However, the author notes that the only exception to this suspension is from November 1, 2024 to November 1, 2027, when Google will receive money, revenue sharing, or perks. Investors in Epic have Tencent (Chehi), KKR (KKR), Disney (DIS), and sony (Sony).
